About Coach

Gage moved to the Raleigh area from South Carolina in January 2023. He grew up in Florence, SC before attending and graduating from The Citadel in Charleston, SC where he played Division I Football (FCS). Gage loves and played many sports growing up including football, baseball, and soccer. He started CrossFit in 2020 following the end of his days playing college football.

Turning Point

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I had just moved to Greenville, SC. I was attempting to play my fifth year of college football while beginning graduate school. A few weeks into summer workouts, a positive COVID test on the team shut down all football operations and we weren’t even allowed in the weight room for 2 weeks. I knew that I would be really bad off if I did nothing during that time, so that’s when I started CrossFit. I went all in, signed up for a month’s membership at my local gym, and told myself that I would need to commit to showing up every day. To this day, my first CrossFit workout was maybe the hardest workout I’ve ever done. In fact, I thought about quitting and asking for a refund for the membership that I had just purchased. But I am so glad I didn’t do that. Instead, I told myself that I would need to keep showing up if I wanted to see improvements and actually get fitter. So, I went back the next day, and the next, and the next. Since then, I haven’t looked back, and I’m committed to helping others realize that they are more capable than they believe themselves to be. Simply showing up is more than half the battle, and I am excited to be here at United every day to help our members get fitter and have fun doing it!

Motivation & Passion

I am passionate about making fitness accessible and enjoyable for everyone who walks through our doors. There is something that we can improve on every day, and I am excited to help people set, pursue, and achieve their goals so that they can not only perform well during our workouts but also be fitter for the demands of everyday life.
